I am a barrister in general practice. Before joining the Bar, I was a senior solicitor, practising primarily in criminal law and alternative dispute resolution. I have broad experience in planning and environment law, building and construction, family law, insolvency, contractual disputes and estate litigation.
I hold an Honours degree in Law (1983) from the University of Queensland.
As a member of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, I work as a presiding officer, mediator and conciliator across a broad range of jurisdictions. My tribunal work in domestic building and construction work is readily transferable to the commercial sphere, where I will accept instructions. As a member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal, I review Treatment Authorities, Forensic Orders and Fitness for Trial applications.
In my academic practice for Central Queensland University, I coordinate, write and teach Alternative Dispute Resolution, Planning and Environment Law, Queensland Evidence Law, Introduction to Law, Trusts Law and Statutory Interpretation to LLB students as part of the Central Queensland University school of law.
As a nationally accredited mediator, I regularly receive briefs from government, corporate and private sources.
